The dark and dreary winter nights in Iceland see to it that we do pick up any festive event that other nation can think of. Especially if it is from USA and has highly been promoted on TV. We do have our own type of Halloween but it is in February.
That is why we are starting to celebrate Halloween over here to. Not in the way that it is done in USA, but we do decorate some discos and restaurants. I had the opportunity to be in Canada when they celebrated day of the dead there but I some how managed to miss all Halloween action in USA.
Still I got some pumpkin images while I was in Oregon and also in California. This image shot in Ferndale California has been lurking in my catalogue and not doing any thing because I was not pleased with the development that I had given it. But the beauty of modern digital development makes it so that you can experiment over and over again on the same image.
That is why I tried a bit of strong colors even though I have been using them more tempered Then I added some dodging and burning as I have been doing a lot of lately.
Simple Image that I was going to throw away came to life. A photograph is never finished when it comes out of the box. It is just then that its life starts.
