Hierarchical keywords in Lightroom2
Hierarchical keywords in Lightroom2

There is a simple way of making life easier in Lightroom 2
Why type in 20 keywords when you can type in 5 and let Lightroom take care of the rest.
Here is how my dog comes to the rescue.
As you can see from my picture I do have a beautiful dog named Tara.
To keyword the pictures of my dog I need at least 7 keywords.
Dog
Tara
English springer spaniel
Pet
Domestic animal
animal
and I am going to use human interest to.
Why I just chose to do so as to separate the pictures of domestic animals from my wildlife photography and photos of agricultural or farm animals.
So here is how I do it in Lightroom 2
I start by making a keyword that gets the name human interest an make sure that it takes with it both synonyms and included keywords.
By right clicking on human interest I can select to make new tag inside human interest, and so on and so on.
human interest
->animal
-->Domestic animals
--->Pet
---->Dog
----->English springer spaniel
------>Tara
By using this system I simply type in Tara and and along tag the 6 other keywords.
You might not see them in the Keywording pallet but if you change it to -will export you will see all the exporting keywords.
Can not be simpler.
