It is my Image so shut the f#$## up!
It is my image and it is my decision what I do with it so shut the fuck up! was a response I got when trying to discuss the matter and complications of CC with some young Photographers. This is probably the most stupid response to the matter I have ever heard. Here is why?
There is not doubt about it that the image you created is your image and in all normal cases you would be free do do with it what you like. Have full control over it and its usage. But not so in the case of Creative Commons.
As soon as you have assigned the CC stamp to your image the image is out of your hands. You have no sayings on how it is going to be used and who is going to use it.
The image is no longer yours even though you hold the copy right and the original. You have waved the rights to make decisions regarding your image on the forehand. It is now up to other people to decide how, when and in what purpose they will use your image.
No matter how much you dislike their use of your image, you gave them the right to use it. So live with it. Or not
You can mark your images with All rights reserved. People would then show the courtesy of asking for license to use your image. You would then be inn full control over who and how. It is your image and you are free to do with it what you please, as long as you do not wave that right by assigning CC to it.
Think before you act.
Protect your rights to decide who, how and why your image is used.
